Motors & Automation

Introduction

Behind every motorised curtain and every automated blind sits a motor that most people never see, never hear, and never think about — until the day their windows respond to a voice command, open on a programmed schedule, or close automatically when the sun hits a sensor.

Our motors are sourced from manufacturers who specialise exclusively in window automation. These are not generic motors repurposed for curtains — they are purpose-built for this application, delivering the ultra-quiet operation, precise torque control, and long service life that window dressing systems demand.

Whether you are motorising a single set of bedroom curtains or outfitting a 50-floor commercial tower with integrated automation, our motor range covers every scale of ambition.

How Motorised Window Dressing Works

A compact motor unit — concealed within the curtain track profile or mounted inside the blind headbox — drives the fabric open and closed on command. You control it via a handheld remote, a wall-mounted switch, a smartphone app, or voice commands through Amazon Alexa or Google Home. Programme daily schedules so curtains open with sunrise and close at dusk. Set scenes that adjust multiple windows simultaneously. Or simply operate each window individually with the tap of a button.

The motor operates silently — guests in a hotel room, patients in a hospital ward, and colleagues in a conference room will not hear a thing. The mechanism is fully concealed, preserving the clean aesthetic of your curtain or blind installation.

Our Motor Range

Curtain Track Motors

Curtain Track Motors

Designed for integration with our American, Ripple and Bent curtain track systems. Available in hardwired (permanent mains connection) and battery-powered (rechargeable lithium-ion) configurations. The choice depends on your installation new-build projects with pre-wired power points favour hardwired motors, while retrofit installations and rental properties benefit from the flexibility of battery-powered units.

Blind Motors (1)

Blind Motors

Compact tubular motors engineered for roller, zebra, honeycomb, and roman blind systems. The motor sits entirely within the headbox, invisible and inaudible. Operated via remote, app, or smart-home voice commands. Ideal for hard-to-reach windows, skylights, and large glass facades where manual operation is impractical.

Smart-Home Integration

Smart-Home Integration

Every motor in our range is designed for seamless smart-home connectivity. Wi-Fi-enabled controllers link your motorised windows to your home network, enabling control from anywhere — your sofa, your office, or another city entirely. Integration with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and leading home automation platforms means your curtains and blinds become part of your daily smart-home routine. Pair motorised curtains with smart lighting, climate control, and security systems for a fully integrated living experience. Imagine arriving home to curtains that have already opened, lights that have adjusted and the perfect temperature waiting — all triggered by a single geofence or schedule.

Commercial & Hospitality Applications

Motorisation is not just a residential convenience — it is a commercial necessity for many project types. Hotels programme curtains to open for housekeeping and close for guest arrival. Hospitals control window dressing centrally for patient comfort and infection-control protocols. Corporate offices automate blinds across entire floors for energy management and glare reduction. Cinemas and auditoriums blackout hundreds of windows simultaneously at the start of a screening.

Our project management team coordinates motor specification, wiring requirements, and integration with building management systems for commercial installations of any scale.
